Lewis Chitengwa Invitational: Tennessee runs away, winning by twelve shots

In the individual competition, Florida State's Luke Clanton continued his dominant stretch, winning his third straight tournament

The Tennessee men’s golf team, who is ranked No. 7 nationally, shot 27-under 825 with rounds of 276-269-280, securing the team championship at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial, held at Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville, Va.

The Volunteers won by twelve to win their program-record-tying third title of the season, following their triumphs at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate in September of 2023 and the Fighting Irish Classic in October of 2023.

Florida State concluded with rounds of 280-282-275, securing the runner-up position at 15-under par. Following 16 shots behind, North Florida and Arkansas shared a third-place finish, both ending at 1 over par. North Florida's scores of 279-290-284 matched Arkansas' rounds of 284-285-284, resulting in a T3 finish at 1-over 853.

In the individual competition, Florida State sophomore Luke Canton shot rounds of 68-66-64, securing his third consecutive collegiate title at 15-under par.

Clanton's remarkable achievement follows previous victories at the Seminole Intercollegiate on March 12 and the Valspar Collegiate Invitational on March 26. A final-round 64 at Lewis Chitengwa solidified his status as the sole Seminole golfer to triumph in three consecutive tournaments.
