Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the things people ask us most. Can't find what you need? Contact our team.
Tournament registration
How do I register for a tournament?
Open the tournament page and select "Register". You'll choose your division, confirm your details, and pay the entry fee. Once payment is captured you'll get a confirmation email with a confirmation code (for example TML-2027-PIN-0001) and the registration appears in your account.
Where do I find my registration confirmation?
Your confirmation code is in the confirmation email we send after checkout. You can also view every registration any time under your account. If you can't find it, contact support with the email you registered with and we'll look it up.
Can I get a refund or cancel my registration?
Refund eligibility depends on the tournament's policy and how close it is to the start date. Contact support with your confirmation code and we'll review your request and process any eligible refund back to your original payment method.
How do team registrations and partner invites work?
For team events the captain registers first and invites a partner by email. The partner gets an invite link to complete their own entry. If your partner didn't receive the invite, check spam first, then contact support and we'll resend it.
How do I get my tournament listed, or send in results?
We'd love to have it. If you run or represent a tournament:
โข To get an event listed (or fix its dates, venue, or registration link), contact support with the event name, dates, course, and a link to your official site or registration page.
โข To send final results for publication, reply with a results link or attach the final leaderboard โ we publish qualifying events and record results "for the record."
โข If you think the event should carry ranking points, mention its field strength and history; our rankings team reviews each event against our criteria.
Membership & billing
What does an AmateurGolf.com membership include?
Membership unlocks premium features across the site including deadline and live-leaderboard alerts, organizer contact details, and member-only content. See the Upgrade page for the current plan lineup and pricing.
What's the difference between Reader and Member?
Reader ($25/yr) is for fans who want to read and follow: every paywalled article ad-free, full live leaderboards with scoreboard links, and the top 100 of each ranking with player profiles. Member ($99/yr) adds the competitor toolkit โ the complete rankings beyond the top 100, every player's full record and per-event ranking results, strength-of-field and cut-line previews, the Schedule Builder, and AmateurGolf.com Tour event eligibility. You can upgrade from Reader to Member anytime and we'll prorate what you've already paid.
Is there a free account?
There's no free signup to create anymore โ new readers and members join at the plan that fits. The most affordable is Reader at $25/year, which unlocks every article ad-free, full live leaderboards, and the top 100 of each ranking. Anyone can still browse tournament listings, live leaderboards, and the top of the rankings without an account. If you had a free account from before the change, it still works โ you're grandfathered in and nothing about your access changed.
How do I update my billing or payment method?
Manage your plan and payment details under Account โ Membership & billing. If you're having trouble updating a card or your renewal failed, contact support and we'll help sort it out.
Why was I charged $59 (or $79)?
AmateurGolf.com memberships renew automatically each year (or month, on monthly plans), so a charge from us is almost always your regular renewal โ $59 or $79 are our annual plans. You can see the exact charge, your plan, and your renewal date under Account โ Membership, and download receipts under Billing history.
If you don't want to renew again, choose "Cancel auto-renewal" on the same page โ you keep full access until the end of the period you already paid for. If you believe the charge is a mistake (for example, you'd already cancelled), reply from the email on the account via our support form and we'll make it right.
When does my membership renew? Am I on auto-renewal?
Your plan, price, and exact renewal date are shown under Account โ Membership โ no need to write in to confirm. If auto-renewal is on, we'll also email you about two weeks before the charge.
From that page you can update your card, switch plans, or turn off auto-renewal (you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for).
I'm a Reader โ why can't I see the full rankings or enter AG Tour events?
Those are Member features. Reader covers reading and following: articles, live leaderboards, and the top 100 of each ranking with player profiles. The complete rankings beyond the top 100, per-event ranking points, the Schedule Builder, and AmateurGolf.com Tour event entry are all part of Member ($99/yr). Upgrade anytime from Account โ Membership & billing โ we'll prorate your Reader payment toward Member for the rest of your term.
Can I upgrade from Reader to Member later?
Yes. Go to Account โ Membership & billing and switch to Member; we'll prorate what you've already paid on Reader toward the Member price for the rest of your term, so you only pay the difference. Your account, saved events, watchlist, and history all carry over.
How do I cancel my membership?
You can cancel from Account โ Membership & billing; your access continues through the end of the current paid period. If you don't see the option or need help, contact support and we'll take care of it.
My payment failed โ what happens to my membership?
When a renewal payment fails we retry it and email you. Your membership enters a short grace period so you don't lose access immediately. Update your payment method under Account โ Membership & billing, or contact support for help.
I'm a lifetime member but my account shows a free account
A small number of longtime lifetime memberships didn't carry over cleanly when we moved to the new site. If your account shows "free" but you're a lifetime member, contact support with the email on your account (and roughly when you purchased, if you remember) โ we'll verify it and restore your lifetime status. This is a quick fix on our end and you won't be asked to pay anything.
Account & sign-in
How do I reset my password or sign in?
Use the sign-in page and follow the password reset link if you've forgotten your password. If you're still locked out, contact support from the email address on your account.
I can't sign in with my old email address
If you created your account years ago with an email you no longer use (an old work address, for example), you have two options:
1. If you can still receive mail at the old address, sign in with it, then change your email under Account โ Email.
2. If you can't access the old address anymore, contact support from your NEW email and tell us the old address (or the name on the account). We'll verify it's you and move the account over.
If you simply forgot your password, use "Forgot password" on the sign-in page โ the reset link goes to the address on the account.
Why can't I see the live leaderboard for an event?
Live scoring depends on two things: your plan and the event's coverage.
โข Live leaderboards and full player records are part of the full Member plan. The $25 Reader plan covers news and articles but does not include live scoring โ if you're a Reader, you'll be prompted to upgrade.
โข Not every event has live scoring. We cover events based on their tier; some smaller events only have final results, and scoring only appears once the event actually starts.
If you're a full Member, the event has started, and you still can't see the leaderboard, sign out and back in first โ then contact support with the event name and we'll take a look.
General
How do I contact support?
Use the contact form on our Support page and pick the topic that best matches your issue. You'll get a confirmation with a reference code, and we'll reply by email. Signed-in members can also track replies in their account.
I found an error in my ranking or results โ how do I get it fixed?
Go to your player profile (search your name from the Rankings page) and click "See an error in this record? Report it" below your results. Tell us which event, what's wrong (wrong finish, missing round, a result that isn't yours, or a missing event), and what it should say. A link to the official results helps us fix it faster.
Our rankings team reviews every report against the official results and corrects the record โ usually within a few business days. If you can't find your profile at all, use the same form from any profile page or contact support and we'll track it down.
