The Winter Series
While the rest of the country puts the clubs away, the best amateurs in the West keep score. Five championships plus an open qualifier, December through February, at premier California courses — Stanford, Del Monte, Pacific Grove, San Juan Oaks and La Jolla.
Before the Tour, they wintered here
These aren't casual off-season events. Winter Series fields are stacked with college stars, elite juniors and hardened mid-amateurs — and the alumni list proves it. PGA Tour winners Max Homa and Collin Morikawa competed in these championships on their way up. Win one of these in a February crosswind and you've beaten a real field on a real course.
