Our exceptional 27-hole Copper Canyon Golf Course is home to one of the largest athletic clubs in our community. The Sun City Festival Men’s Golf Club (SCFMGC) has over 330 members who enjoy a variety of events through their membership in this Sun City Festival Charter Club.
Each week, the club plays scheduled games on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Club games include a rotating variety of four-man and two-man net team events along with individual net and gross games. The club also holds exciting tournaments each month during the season including the Club Championship. (Game day and Tournament schedules are listed below.) When a member gets a “Hole In One”, during a club event, that member gets a cash prize, and the entire club is invited to celebrate at the Indigo Grill with a keg of beer provided by the club!
To ensure that every club member can enjoy friendly competition, club events typically use the GHIN Index system to calculate handicaps. Club members can also play from 3 different tee boxes, and most games are divided into multiple flights so that competition is among players of similar ability.
The SCFMGC Board of directors are elected to rotating two-year terms to give every member an opportunity to use their talents and ideas to improve the club. Board members work hard to listen to the everyone’s suggestions and are dedicated to serving the members.
If you feel you would enjoy the camaraderie of an active men’s golf club, there is more information on the SCFMGC website: www.mgcfestival.com
