Port Phillip Open Amateur: Will Moody, Ella Scaysbrook win the titles

Moody won by one shot over Jye Pickin, while Scaysbrook dominated to win by eleven shots

Will Moody, of New South Wales, carded rounds of 71-66-69-71 to win the Port Phillip Open Amateur title by a stroke at 7-under 277 at Commonwealth Golf Club at Oakleigh South in Australia.

Jye Pickin, who is ranked 101st on the AmateurGolf.com/Golfweek rankings and a fellow player from New South Wales' Avondale Golf Club, where Moody is also a member, carded rounds of 69-69-71-69 to secure a runner-up finish at 6-under 278.

Moody entered the final round with a three-stroke lead at 7-under 206, closely followed by Pickin and Max Ford at 4-under 209. Pickin put pressure on Moody on the final day, carding a 69 compared to Moody’s 71. However, Moody managed to clinch victory by a narrow one-shot margin, securing his first significant win as an amateur.

In the women's division, 18-year-old Ella Scaysbrook of New South Wales delivered a commanding performance at Commonwealth Golf Club in Oakleigh South, Australia. 
With impressive rounds of 71-65-66-71, she secured a resounding victory, finishing at 15-under par. Her remarkable 11-stroke margin underscored her dominance on the course.

Jazy Roberts and Caitlin Pierce both finished joint runners-up in the tournament, each posting a commendable 4-under 284. 

Roberts showcased consistent play with rounds of 71, 71, 74, and a standout 68, while Pierce carded rounds of 75, 72, and 69 and matched Roberts' impressive 68 to secure their shared accomplishment.

Roberts of Belvoir Park Golf Club in Ravenswood shot a spectacular hole-in-one on par 3, No. 10, during the final round.

Scaysbrook is ranked No. 298 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Rankings.

Fresh off her triumph at the Rene Erichsen Salver, Scaysbrook dominated the competition with a commanding 13-stroke lead after 54 holes. With such a significant advantage, she needed only to maintain her steady performance on the final day to secure the title effortlessly.

The 72-hole Port Phillip tournament is played in conjunction with the Victorian Amateur.

The top 16 men and women from this week qualify for the match-play section, which will be held at Victoria Golf Club early next week. 
The tournament saw participation from 76 men - 74 Australians and one each from Singapore and England.
