Farah O'Keefe is low amateur with top-35 finish at Evian Championship

Texas sophomore goes 5-under at the major in France, birdieing the final hole to edge Yunseo Yang of South Korea by a stroke

ÉVIAN-LES-BAINS, France — Farah O'Keefe saved her best for last.

The University of Texas sophomore rolled in a birdie on her 72nd hole Sunday at Evian Resort, capping a closing 2-under 69 that lifted her to T35 at the Amundi Evian Championship. At 5-under 279, O'Keefe edged fellow amateur Yunseo Yang by a single shot in the LPGA's fifth and final major of the season.
