Jake Bauer rallies from 6 down to claim second Rhode Island Amateur

Down six holes after the morning nine, Jake Bauer could have folded. Instead, the Portsmouth native built a rally that turned the 121st Rhode Island Amateur Championship completely around.

Bauer won his second state amateur title Sunday, defeating Tyler Cooke 2 & 1 at Ledgemont Country Club. Three consecutive birdies over a decisive five-hole stretch erased Cooke's commanding lead and vaulted Bauer to a victory eight years in the making.
