2026 Dave King Senior: Live Coverage Hub from Virginia

Kevin Vandenberg of Pulaski, N.Y., capped a remarkable week by holing an eagle on the first playoff hole to defeat Brian Quackenbush of Aiken, S.C., and capture the Dave King Senior Championship at Evergreen Country Club in Haymarket, Va.

The 59-year-old money manager carded rounds of 68-69-69 to finish at 10-under 206, matching Quackenbush, who closed with rounds of 69-67-70. With the championship still undecided after 54 holes, Vandenberg produced the decisive eagle in sudden death to secure the title.

Jeffrey Klatt of Bristow, Va., finished a distant T-3 at 4-over 220 after rounds of 72-75-73. He shared third with Trent Gregory of Wake Forest, N.C., who opened with a 69 before rounds of 73 and 78.

In the Super Senior division, Bryan Rodgers of Knoxville, Tenn., claimed a two-shot victory with rounds of 74-72-74 for a 4-over total of 220. Rodgers overtook Harry Thomas of Washington Golf Club, who entered the final round with a commanding five-shot lead after rounds of 74-67 but stumbled to an 81 on the final day to finish runner-up at 6-over 222.

Greg Osborne of Lititz, Pa., cruised to the Legends division title after posting rounds of 70-74-72 to finish at even-par 216, six shots clear of home-club player David Prokop, who closed with rounds of 77-72-73.

Jim Castagna of Sandy Spring, Md., captured the Super Legends division with rounds of 71-74-73, finishing at 2-over 218 and four shots ahead of the field.

The Grand Masters division also required extra holes, where Barry Flaer of Adamstown, Md., birdied the first playoff hole to defeat George Owens of Virginia Beach, Va. Both players finished regulation tied at 16-over 232, with Flaer prevailing in sudden death.

Brian Quackenbush of Aiken, SC, sits atop the Senior Division leaderboard at 8-under through 36 holes at Evergreen Country Club. The U.S. Senior Challenge winner holds a one-stroke edge over Kevin VandenBerg (Pulaski, NY), who finished runner-up here in 2025 and stands at 7-under. Trent Gregory, the 2026 Estero Senior Amateur champion from Wake Forest, NC, is alone in third at 2-under, five back of the lead. But he'll need something special on Wednesday to catch either of the two front runners.

Donald Miller (Alpharetta, GA) and Marc Ehudin (Potomac, MD) share fourth at 2-over. Carlos Aranda, who represented Paraguay at the National Senior Hall of Fame, is part of a three-way tie for sixth at 3-over alongside Roy Foutz and Jeffrey Klatt.

SUPER SENIOR

Harry Thomas of Washington Golf & CC in Arlington, Virginia, posted a red-hot 67 that was easily the low score in that division, and it paid off with a 5-shot lead over Bryan Rodgers of Willow Creek. Thomas made seven birdies - people over 65 still have lots of game!
