Spain Dominates World University Golf Championship with Gold and Silver Medals

Spain clinched five medals in Individual and Team events, including Pablo Ereno Perez winning the Gold medal

Pablo Ereno Perez, a senior at UCLA, secured the Gold Medal for Spain at the World University Golf Championship, shooting an impressive 8-under par with rounds of 71-70-66-73.

He was closely followed by fellow Spaniard Alberta Boneta Cami, a University of New Mexico graduate, who earned the Silver Medal at 6-under, just two strokes behind. 

France’s Louis Paulus claimed the Bronze Medal, finishing at 5-under. Spain nearly achieved a clean sweep of the podium, but Javier Barcos Garbayo fell four strokes short, finishing tied for ninth at 1-under.



In the women’s competition, Italy’s Anna Zanusso captured the Gold Medal with rounds of 75-69-69-72, finishing at 3-under 285. South Korea’s Jung Won Choi narrowly missed the top spot, securing the Silver Medal at 2-under.

Daniela Martinez Campillo of Spain earned the Bronze with rounds of 65-71-80-73, finishing 1-over par.
Overall, Spain had a remarkable showing, taking home five medals: Men’s individual Gold and Silver, Men’s Team Gold, and Women’s Bronze and Team Gold.
