Schremmer Claims Women's Southern Amateur at Savannah Golf Club

Scarlett Schremmer finishes four-under to capture the 54-hole stroke play championship by one stroke over Sarah Lydic.

Scarlett Schremmer captured the 2026 Women's Southern Amateur Championship at Savannah Golf Club, finishing at four-under par to claim the historic title by one stroke over Sarah Lydic.

Schremmer's winning total of four-under over 54 holes edged Lydic, who finished at three-under. Raegan Denton took third at one-under par, while Alana Kutt finished fourth at even par to round out the top four.

The championship, now contested as a stroke play event with no cut, moved away from its traditional match play format in recent years. The 54-hole test at Savannah Golf Club proved challenging, with only the top three finishers breaking par for the week.

Yunyi Luo finished fifth at one-over, while a three-way tie for sixth at two-over included Brielle Burns, Lillian Guleserian, and Isabella Goyette. Jenna Madden and Camila Burnett shared ninth at three-over par.

The Women's Southern Amateur is open to female amateur golfers with a handicap index of 6.0 or less under the World Handicap System. All competitors must conform to USGA Rules of Amateur Status and meet the requirements of the USGA Competitive Fairness Gender Policy.

Schremmer's victory continues a recent run of college-aged winners at the event. Last year, Jillian Bowman of Middle Tennessee State captured the title at even par, while Oklahoma commit Audrey Rischer won in 2024 and Emma McMyler prevailed in a playoff in 2023.

The championship represents one of the premier women's amateur events in the southern United States, attracting top competitors from across the region each spring.
