LA Tech's Morton Bailey wins English Amateur with 4 & 2 final victory

Morton Bailey survived a grinding week of match play at Beau Desert Golf Club, closing out 2025 Welsh Men's Open champion Jamie Van Wyk 4 & 2 in Sunday's final to claim the English Amateur Championship.

The Louisiana Tech junior from Crawley entered the knockout rounds as the No. 5 seed after posting 65-70 to finish seven-under 135 in stroke-play qualifying. Van Wyk, from Royal Lytham & St Annes, squeezed into the top 64 as the 34th seed at one-under 141 after rounds of 70-71.
