Katie Poots carried the top seed all the way to the trophy, closing out Hannah Lee-McNamara 4 & 3 in today's final to win the Irish Women's Amateur Close Championship at Enniscrone Golf Club in Sligo.
The Belfast native and Indiana senior never trailed in the championship match, building an early lead and maintaining control through 15 holes against Lee-McNamara, an incoming freshman at Arizona State from Portrush.
