Jackson Mitchell
Jackson Mitchell entered the final round at Burningtree Country Club with a three-shot cushion and a simple plan: don't play scared. By day's end, the Alabama junior had turned what looked like a competitive finish into one of the most commanding victories in the 60-year history of the Daikin Spirit of America Golf Classic.
Mitchell closed with a 6-under 65 on Saturday to win by 11 shots at 11-under 273, the only player in the field to break par for the week. Ben Shedd finished a distant second at even-par 284, followed by Mississippi State's Jackson Cook at 1-over and Jacksonville State's Will Drake at 2-over.
