Lowcountry: Walter Todd uses strong first two rounds to secure Senior Division win

James Starnes defeated Steve Humphrey and Duke Delcher in a playoff to win the Super Senior Division

Walter Todd got off to a hot start, shooting rounds of 70-72 to take a five-shot lead into the final round at the 2024 Lowcountry Senior Invitational at Old Tabby Links on Spring Island in Okatie, S.C.

Todd shot a final round 4-over 76 to finish 2-over and win by three shots over Ken Moody, who finished in solo second place at 5-over.

Todd finished with rounds of 70-72-76 en route to the wire-to-wire win.

Jack Hall finished in solo third place at 6-over, finishing with rounds of 74-76-72. Hall is currently ranked No. 8 in the AmateurGolf.com Senior Rankings.

Alan Peake and David Steed finished T4 at 8-over, rounding out the top five. 

In the Super Senior Division, James Starnes defeated Steve Humphrey and Duke Delcher in a playoff after all three golfers finished 8-over. Starnes shot rounds of 75-76-73 to earn a spot in the playoff. He started the final round four shots back, but Humphrey and Delcher shot a final round 5-over 77 to open the door for Starnes to come from behind. 

Starnes is ranked No. 5 in the AmateurGolf.com Super Senior Rankings.

In the Legends Division, Bev Hargraves won by five shots with a final score of 3-over , and in the Super Legends Division, Mike Weiner won by two shots over the field at 10-over.
