Aidan Emmerich has his Massachusetts Amateur. The Kernwood Country Club member and recent Temple graduate never trailed in the 36-hole final at Winchester Country Club, dismantling first-time finalist Zac Georgantas 8 & 6 on Saturday to win the 118th Massachusetts Amateur Championship.
The final was suspended and resumed at 11:15 a.m., and Emmerich needed only 30 of the scheduled 36 holes to finish it. Eight up with six to play, the Swampscott native turned the marquee match into a rout — the same wire-to-wire control he had shown all week, now applied to the biggest stage of the championship.
