Weather delays were once again part of the story at the 80th Florida Open, but when the rain finally cleared Sunday evening at Longboat Key Club, it was hometown professional Michael Visacki who emerged with the championship trophy. After a dramatic final round that featured multiple lead changes, a nearly three-hour suspension for dangerous weather, and a stunning finish, Visacki defeated Chase Seiffert with a par on the first playoff hole after the two finished regulation tied at 7-under 207.
Visacki appeared poised to win outright before a double bogey at the 72nd hole dropped him back into a tie, while Seiffert's closing bogey also left the door open.
