After day one of the bi-annual 2024 Concession Cup Matches at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club in Savannah, Ga., the European men's team leads the United States 3.5 to 2.5, and the United States women lead 5-1 over the European team.
Matthew McClean/Hugh Foley, Michael Flindt/Pascal Grizot, and John Kemp/Ronnie Clark all earned full points for the European team. McClean is currently ranked No. 1 in the AmateurGolf.com Mid-Amateur Rankings.
On the women's side, The United States team took a commanding 5 to 1 lead heading into the day two sessions.
Suzi Spotleson/Martha Leach and Ellen Port/Tara Joy-Connelly led the way, with both teams winning 4 and 3.
It is the fifth playing of this Ryder Cup-style event between the top Mid-Am and Senior amateur players in the USA and Europe, and this year is the inaugural edition of a women’s side to the matches.
Conducted by the Amateur Golf Alliance, the matches promote the amateur game worldwide to the Mid-Am and Senior players.
