England wins 13th European Nations Cup title as a team

Kevin Jegers of Estonia wins individual title in a dominating fashion as England wins their 13th championship

Kevin Jegers, a Middle Tennessee State University graduate from Estonia, delivered a masterclass performance to capture the individual title at the European Nations Cup at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande in Sotogrande, Spain.

Jegers fired rounds of 69-68-70 and a closing 67 to finish at 14-under par, comfortably securing the victory.

This win adds another milestone to Jegers' growing list of achievements. He remains the first—and still the only—collegiate golfer from Estonia to win an individual NCAA event, having claimed the Pat Hicks Invitational in 2022.

His impressive form continued into the 2023-2024 season, where he earned Conference USA Player of the Week honors twice.

Harley Smith of England finished a distant second at 6-under after carding rounds of 78-71-65-68, while fellow Englishman Daniel Hayes, the 2024 England Boys’ Order of Merit winner and a Louisiana State University commit this fall, secured third place at 5-under with rounds of 71- 71-69-72.

The English team, led by Smith and Hayes along with Elot Baker and Thomas Osborne, extended their dominance by capturing their 13th European Nations Cup title—an impressive tally that puts them nine wins ahead of Spain, which has claimed the title four times since the event’s inception in 1998.

Baker, who recently won the Portuguese Amateur Championship, and Osborne, the 2023 Yorkshire Amateur Champion, were also the key contributors to the team’s commanding performance.
