St. Mary’s men’s golf team, the Gaels, finished 15-over 879 with rounds of 307-286-286, securing the team championship at the El Macero Classic in Davis, Calif.
The Gaels won by seven strokes to earn their first title of the season.
In the individual competition, Enrique Dimayuga, a senior at Nevada from London, England, carded rounds of 75-70-64, securing his second consecutive individual medalist honors at 8-under following his triumph at the Gaucho Invitational last week.
Dimayuga was named the Mountain West Golfer of the Week last week for his impressive performance at the Gaucho Invitational. There, he led his Nevada men’s golf team to their first team title since Fall 2021. He is currently ranked No. 1136 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings.
Tommaso Zorzetto, a senior at Grand Canyon, carded rounds of 71-73-68 to register a runner-up finish at 4-under par.
The winners, St. Mary’s College, saw three of its players finish inside the top 20. Freshman Jack Jerge carded rounds of 77-68-68 to secure a third-place finish at 3-under, followed by Junior Kristian Bressum, who carded 79-71-69 for an eighth-place finish at 3-over. Junior Connor Reis carded rounds of 75-72-75 for a T16 finish at 6-over par.
