Lauren Cupp shook off an opening double bogey at McConnellsville Golf Club and steadied herself over the remaining 17 holes to defend her title at the AIM Syracuse Women's Championship, winning by two strokes with rounds of 76-76 for 8-over 152.
The Rome Country Club member claimed her seventh career AIM championship and second in as many years with the kind of resilience that's become her calling card. After the shaky start at McConnellsville in the final round, Cupp regrouped and posted 4-over 76 to pull away from the field in the 36-hole stroke-play event.
