Bobcat Invitational: Georgia Southwestern successfully defend its title

Will Chambless led the Hurricanes to the team win as he narrowly won the individual competition by one shot

Georgia Southwestern successfully defended its title at the 2024 Bobcat Invitational at the Golf Club at Cuscowilla in Eatonton, Ga.

Georgia Southwestern was the only team to shoot an under-par final round en route to locking up the win. They finished at 11-over with rounds of 288-284-279 to win the team title by seven shots.

Their final round 1-under 279 helped them pull away from the field to secure the comfortable win.

North Georgia and Florida Southern finished T2 at 18-over. West Florida finished in solo fourth place at 20-over, and Nova Southeastern finished in solo fifth place at 24-over. 

In the individual competition, Will Chambless of Georgia Southwestern finished 2-under to win, besting Adam Alvarez of Florida Southern by one shot, who finished in solo second place at 1-under.

Chambless is currently ranked No. 429 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com U.S. Rankings and recently finished T7 at the 2023 Southeastern Amateur

Jake Nash of Saint Leo, Erik Fogel of Georgia Southwestern, and Albin Ekvall of Barry finished T3 at even par and two shots back of Chambless.

Fogel was named Peach Belt Conference Golfer of the week after this finish.
