Carson Bellish of Pickerington captured the Ohio Amateur Championship with a closing 72 to finish 7-under 281 at The Virtues Golf Club. Despite a triple bogey during Thursday's third round, Bellish's back-nine 35 on Friday provided the cushion he needed, defeating Luke Siefker (Dublin) and Liam Curtis (Kent) by two strokes.
Both finished 5-under 283—Siefker with a final-round 69, Curtis with 77. Colin Biles (Columbus) and Bradley Chill Jr. (Columbia Station) tied for fourth at 2-under 286, while Timmy Hollenbeck (Mason) finished solo sixth at 1-under 287 despite a final-round 81.
With his victory, Bellish earned a spot in the U.S. Amateur in August at Merion.
