Scheffler has now won four of his last six starts on the PGA Tour, and on very different golf courses. At the WM Phoenix Open, he went deep into the red numbers and won in a playoff over Patrick Cantlay. He prevailed in U.S. Open conditions at the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Invitational in Orlando, Fla., then took the WGC Match Play Championships at a windswept Austin Country Club, and has now won his first major championship in dominating fashion, winning by three shots at Augusta National and earning a green jacket.
A Big 12 Championship would follow at the University of Texas, along with low-amateur honors in the U.S. Open.
Since turning pro, he has quickly racked up the accolades: Korn Ferry Tour player of the year, PGA Tour rookie of the year, winning Ryder Cup team member, and now four-time PGA Tour winner.
What comes next? Scheffler really isn't thinking too much about it. It has worked so far.
