After five playoff holes, all of which were the final No. 18, at Charlotte Country Club in Charlotte, N.C., Michael Brennan of Wake Forest and Frederik Kjettrup of Florida State were named co-champions of the ACC Men's Golf Championship stroke play portion.
Brennan and Kjettrup both finished 7-under to force a playoff. After paring No. 18 five times, they were declared co-champions.
Brennan shot rounds of 66-71-69, and Kjettrup shot rounds of 68-67-71 to finish at 7-under. Austin Greaser of North Carolina and Christo Lamprecht of Georgia Tech finished T3 at 6-under and just one shot out of the playoff.
Luke Clanton of Florida State finished in solo fifth place at 5-under.
Clanton is ranked No. 4, and Lamprecht is ranked No. 5 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings.
In the team competition, North Carolina earned the No. 1 seed in match play, winning by six shots at 10-under. Flordia State, Wake Forest, and Georgia Tech all finished T2 at 4-under, filling out the rest of the match play.
Virginia finished in solo fifth place at 1-under, and Duke finished in solo sixth place at 2-over.
Brennan also claimed the individual champion title at the 2023 ACC Tournament, becoming the 23rd player in program history to win the conference individual crown, making this a back-to-back title.
This is the first time someone has gone back-to-back since Louisville's Robin Sciot-Siegrist in 2015 and 2016, and only the fifth time in ACC history, with Wake Forest golfers accomplishing the feat three of those times. Brennan is now tied with Curtis Strange for holding eight individual titles as a Demon Deacon, the third-highest total in program history, according to Wake Forest athletics.
