Florida standout and 2024 Western Amateur champion Ian Gilligan shot an even-par 72 in the final round to hold off first-round leader Kai Komulainen and win the 2025 Australian Master of the Amateurs at Southern Golf Club in Keysborough, Australia.

Gilligan recorded rounds of 68-64-70-72 to get to 14-under and win by one shot. Komulainen set off fireworks late in the round, birding holes No. 16 and 17 to tie Gilligan for the lead at 13-under. However, Gilligan stepped up and made the long birdie putt on the par-4 No. 18 to win by one shot.

Harry Takis finished in solo third place at 12-under, Jye Halls finished in solo fourth place at 8-under, and Billy Dowling finished in solo fifth place at 7-under.

Komulainen and Gilligan both tied the course at Southern Golf Club with an 8-under 64. Komulainen recorded nine birdies and one bogey, including birdies on holes No. 15 through 18, to get into the clubhouse at 8-under in the opening round.

Gilligan recorded nine birdies and one bogey en route to his second-round 8-under 64.

Komulainen made the final 32 of the 2024 NSW Men's Amateur and led after the first round of the 2024 Australian Men's Amateur. He finished T26 at the 2024 Australian Master of the Amateurs.

Gilligan is currently ranked No. 5 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings.
