For the second consecutive year, Gordon Sargent and Vanderbilt won the Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.
Vanderbilt finished 30-under, winning by an impressive 18 shots over Ole Miss, who finished 12-under and in solo second place. Vanderbilt won by 23 shots last year in this championship, with Sargent dominating the field and winning by eight shots.

Vanderbilt and Ole Miss were the only two teams to shoot under par, with Alabama finishing in solo third place at even par and 12 shots back of Ole Miss for second place. UNCW finished in solo fourth place at 4-over, and Middle Tennessee State finished in solo fifth place at 10-over.
Vanderbilt carded rounds of 275-276-271 to get to 30-under. The final round, 13-under 271, was the best round by four shots in the tournament, beating its own first-round score.
In the individual competition, two Vanderbilt stars battled it out at the top of the leaderboard. In the end, Gordon Sargent won his second consecutive Mason Rudolph Invitational, finishing 11-under to secure the wire-to-wire win by four shots. Sargent carded rounds of 64-69-69 to get to 11-under.
Sargent is ranked No. 1 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings.
Sargent's teammate and roommate Jackson Van Paris finished in solo second place at 7-under, and Matthew Riedel of Vanderbilt and Cameron Tankersley finished T3 at 5-under.
Thomas Ponder of Alabama finished in solo fifth place at 4-under to lead the Crimson Tide.
Sargent joins Sam Horsfield of Florida as the only players to have won the Mason Rudolph Championship on more than one occasion. Horsfield claimed medalist honors during the 2016 and 2017 tournaments.
It is Sargent’s first SEC Golfer of the Week award this season, sharing the award with Jack Lundin of Missouri. It is the fifth time this season that a Vanderbilt golfer has earned a weekly accolade from the SEC, joining Cole Sherwood, Jackson Van Paris, and Matthew Riedel have each been named SEC Golfer of the Week.
