Zude Xu Claims Low Amateur at Long Beach Open

Zude Xu of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., made an impressive debut against a professional field, earning low-amateur honors with a fifth-place finish at the Long Beach Open at El Dorado Park Golf Course.

Xu, ranked No. 48 in the AJGA Rankings, posted rounds of 72-65-65-69 to finish at 13-under 271, just four shots behind the winning total. After opening with a 72, Xu surged up the leaderboard with consecutive 6-under 65s before closing with a 69 to secure a top-five finish.
