The University of West Florida Argonauts emerged victorious in a stacked field at the 2025 Southeastern Collegiate, outlasting some of the nation’s top Division II programs.
The Southeastern Collegiate is always a heavyweight battle, and this year was no exception. Five of the top 10 teams in the country competed: No. 3 West Florida, No. 6 Lincoln Memorial, No. 8 Lee University, No. 9 Florida Southern, and No. 10 Georgia Southwestern.
Entering the final round outside the lead, West Florida surged to the top with a scorching 13-under 275, finishing the tournament at 25-under par. That late charge was enough to edge out Lincoln Memorial, which finished runner-up at 23-under.
Georgia Southwestern secured third at 18-under, with Lee University just two strokes behind at 16-under in fourth. Florida Southern and Lee University finished out the top 5 at 3-under par, well behind the birdie party in the top 4.
Individually, West Florida’s Cooper Tendick, ranked No. 21 in Division II, led the way for the Argonauts and claimed medalist honors at 12-under, four shots ahead of Lincoln Memorial’s Jamie Dean. Lynn’s Joseph Hudak finished in solo 3rd at 7-under after a tournament-low 65 in round one.
A five-way tie for 4th at 6-under included Florida Southern's Tyler Mistretta, Barry’s Ethan Gough, Georgia Southwestern’s Nicolas Escobar, West Florida's TJ Thompson, and Lincoln Memorial’s George Durkan.
