The Washington women’s golf team pulled away from the field at the 2025 Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational thanks to a blistering second round at Ka’anapali Golf Resort in Lahaina, Hawai’i.
After opening with a 3-under 285, the Huskies posted a blistering 15-under 273 in round two and closed with a 287 to finish at 19 under — 11 shots clear of the field. Washington was the only team to post three rounds under par.
Sacramento State finished runner-up at 8 under (286-281-289), while Oregon State took third at 7 under (283-284-290).
Statistically, the Huskies dominated across the board. They led the field in par-4 and par-5 scoring, finishing a combined 22 under on the par 5s. Washington also tallied a field-best 53 birdies and made the fewest bogeys with just 38.
Washington’s Vivian Lu and Gonzaga’s Grace Lee shared medalist honors at 11 under. Lu fired a tournament-low 65 in round two, bookended by rounds of 70. Lee posted rounds of 69-66-70 to tie for the top spot.
Denver’s Emma Bryant and Oregon State’s Kyra Ly tied for third at 7 under, with BYU’s Maria Jose Barragan finishing solo fifth at 5 under.
The champion Huskies return to action April 7–9 at the Silverado Showdown in Napa, Calif.
