The 28th Annual Georgia Cup Match will be held on Sunday, April 6th, on the Lakeside Course at The Golf Club of Georgia.

Reigning U.S. Amateur Champion José Luis Ballester will go head-to-head with reigning British Amateur Champion Jacob Skov Olesen in an 18-hole match before Ballester heads to Augusta for his first appearance in the Masters.

Olesen, by turning professional in November of 2024, forfeited his invitation to the 2025 Masters Tournament.

Ballester is a rising Spanish amateur golfer with a rapidly growing list of achievements. He made history by becoming the first Spaniard to win the U.S. Amateur Championship, claiming victory at the 124th edition of the event at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota.

His 2-up win over Iowa’s Noah Kent solidified his reputation as one of the top amateurs in the game. His precision and composure under pressure have made him one of the most exciting young golfers to watch.

His opposition, Denmark’s Jacob Olesen, etched his name in history by becoming the first player from Denmark to win the British Amateur Championship. His 4and-3 victory over England’s Dominic Clemons at Ballyliffin Golf Club in Ireland was a testament to his skill, consistency, and determination.

Olesen’s ability to rise to the occasion on golf’s biggest amateur stages has made him a formidable competitor, and his recent success has put him on the radar as one of Denmark’s most promising golfing talents. Following the conclusion of the European Tour Qualifying School, where he was successful in gaining a 2025 European Tour card, having finished inside the top 20, Olesen turned professional.

Last year, reigning U.S. Amateur Champion Nick Dunlap competed against reigning British Amateur Champion Christo Lamprecht in a head-to-head match. In an exciting finish, Lamprecht eagled the par 5 18th hole with a 14-foot putt to take the title.
