Tobias Jonsson wins at Mark Simpson Colorado Invite

Jonsson wins his sixth career title and second of the season after finishing on top of the leaderboard in Colorado

Tobias Jonsson, a senior at Mercer University, shot 9-under 207 to win his second title of the season at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invite at Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colo.

Jonsson shot rounds of 68-70-69 to win by a two-shot margin over Justin Biwer of Colorado, who shot 71-68-70 to finish as the runners-up at 7-under 209. This also marked his second win of the season, following a win at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto earlier in March.

Jonsson picked his sixth career title with his performance in Colorado. Jonsson entered the final round, tied for the lead with Benjamin Partridge of San Francisco at 6-under par, and soon added a final round 69 to emerge victorious in Colorado. Whereas Partridge finished T3 at 6-under 210.

In the team competition, the San Francisco squad, comprised of Jakob Melin, Benjamin Partridge, Renato Naula, Svante Palmgren, Harry Brown and Jackson Rothwell, showcased their prowess by posting scores of 276-282-287 across 54 holes, securing the title with an impressive 19-under total of 845.

Colorado, delivering a strong performance, clinched the runner-up position with scores of 285-282-280, finishing just two strokes behind at a commendable 17-under 847.
