Nyholm, ranked 71st in the latest WAGR rankings, fired a final round 62 to claim the individual title in the tournament, breaking the school record for lowest score to par (68-69-62—199/-17) in the process. With the victory, Nyholm earns a sponsor’s exemption into the Korn Ferry Tour’s REX Hospital Open, held June 3-6 in Raleigh.
Nyholm led the field in par-4 scoring (-12), was even on the par-4 holes and 5-under on the par fives. He made 19 birdies, second-most in the 68-golfer field. His team finished fifth in the event, 26 strokes behind ninth-ranked NC State, who claimed the team title with a score of 51-under par.

Four of NC State’s golfers finished in the top ten of the individual standings, and the 51-under was also a program record. It was the fourth consecutive team win for the Wolfpack.
The Wolfpack were led by graduate student Christian Saltzer, who shot 65-72-65—202 to finish three behind Nyholm in solo second. NC State’s Maximillian Steinlechner (T3-203), Easton Paxton (T5-204), and Benjamin Shipp (T5-204) were right behind Saltzer on the leaderboard.
Ninth-ranked NC State finished 12 shots clear of 26th Ranked Notre Dame in second, and 13 shots clear of 55th ranked East Tennessee State, who finished in third.
