PLYMOUTH, MA (June 4, 2016) -- After the opening round of play at the 52nd Hornblower Invitational Sean Fitzpartick has claimed a two-stroke lead. Fitzpatrick fired an opening round bogey-free 6-under 66 and he will look to go wire-to-wire during Saturday's final round at Plymouth Country Club.
Fitzpatrick who plays at St. Anselm carded three birdies on each side as he shot 32-34. His birdies came on holes 1, 6, 8, 13, 15 and 17.
In Saturday's final round Fitzpatrick will look to hold off Brandon Gillis and Owen Elliot, both 4-under after first round 68's. Four additional players are just three shots back following opening day 3-under 69's.
Following the completion of play on Friday the field was cut to 74 players.
