Robbie van West captures German International Amateur

Netherlands' Robbie van West shots a final-round 69 to capture German International Amateur by five shots

DREIEICH, Germany (July 26, 2015) – The German International Amateur came to a close Sunday at Neuhof Golf Club in Dreieich, Germany. The championship was originally meant to be played over 72 holes but was shortened to 54 due to strong winds. That didn’t bother Robbie van West too much. West, of Netherlands, was tied for the lead with Sixten Jensen and Maximilian Oelfke going into the final round at 6-under par. Jensen quickly fell off the pace with an early double bogey while Oelfke and West remained very steady through the first 10 holes. Holes 13-18 were the difference makers, however, as West played them in 2-under par while Oelfke struggled, playing them in 3-over par which included a double bogey on the final hole. West ended up shooting a final-round 69 which gave him a 5-shot victory over Oelfke, Lorenzo Scalise, and Jonas Liebich who each ended up at 4-under par total.
