RESULTS: Danish International Amateur Championship

The 2025 Danish International Amateur Championship (DIAC) returns to Silkeborg Ry Golfklub from July 1–4, bringing together many of the top amateur players from Denmark and across Europe. Hosted annually since 2000, the DIAC features men’s and women’s divisions, with 72 holes of stroke play contested over four days at one of Denmark’s most respected venues.

Silkeborg’s championship layout delivers a fair but demanding test, rewarding ball-striking and course management across its tree-lined corridors and fast, undulating greens. Known for its professional-caliber setup and relaxed atmosphere, the event has become a staple on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) calendar, with past champions often advancing to collegiate and international success.

In 2024, Denmark’s Kristian Bressum and Germany’s Hannah Karg claimed titles in tightly contested finishes. This year’s edition once again showcased a strong blend of national team players, collegiate talent, and rising stars from across the continent.

Men's Recap

Daniel Toft of Smørum Golfklub captured the 2025 Danish International Amateur Championship with a 72-hole score of 284 (−4), finishing four shots ahead of the field. Ranked No. 1222 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and a member of the Danish men’s national team, Toft was the only player in the field to shoot par or better in all four rounds (70-72-70-72) on a demanding Silkeborg Ry layout.

Toft entered the week with a strong national résumé in 2024, including a T-3 at the Danish Stroke Play Championship and a T-4 at last year’s DIAC. His steady play and consistency across all four rounds proved decisive in separating him from the field.

Smørum teammate Theis Poulsen finished second at even-par 288, followed by Victor Thybo (Sønderjyllands Golfklub) in third at 289 (+1). Gianni van der Veeke (+3) and Benjamin Lübker (+4) rounded out the top five. Lübker’s second-round 66 was the lowest score recorded all week.

Women’s Recap

Olivia Grønborg (Smørum Golfklub) won the 2025 Danish International Amateur Championship with a 72-hole total of 285 (−3), closing with an even-par 72 to secure a two-shot victory. She and runner-up Leonie Breutigam were the only players in the field to post three rounds of par or better.

Grønborg, who recently completed her junior season at the University of Miami (Florida), entered the week ranked No. 298 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Her résumé includes a win at the 2024 Hurricane Invitational, a top-5 finish at the Cougar Classic, and multiple top-10 and top-20 results in strong collegiate and international fields.

Breutigam (Golfclub Hamburg Wendlohe) finished second at 287 (−1), followed by Mia Lena Hoffmann (Hamburger GC) at even-par 288. Hoffmann opened with a 67 — the lowest round of the tournament — but closed with a 75. Sarah Skovgaard Bils (Hillerød Golf Klub) finished fourth at +2, while Sweden’s Emma Heyman rounded out the top five at +7.
