The three championships were held concurrently this week, September 19-21 at Twin Lakes Golf & Country Club in Federal Way, Wash.
Shelly Stouffer successfully defended her title in the Senior Women’s Amateur with a commanding 10-shot victory over the second-place finisher, Tomoko Ratzlaff of Sammamish, Washington. Stouffer finished 5-over par and posted consistent rounds of 74-74-73 to secure the victory, and she was the only player in the field to card three sub-75 rounds.
In the Super Senior Women’s Amateur, Karen Madison won the championship by a single shot over the defending champion, Marcia Fisher of Molalla, Oregon. Madison entered the day one shot off the lead and was paired in the final group.
She fired a final-round 83 to card her third consecutive round under 85, clinching the victory. Madison displayed remarkable consistency throughout the week, shooting under 85 in all three rounds, making her the only competitor in the field to achieve this feat.
This marks the second time that Madison has won the Super Senior Women’s Amateur, previously claiming victory in 2015.
