Oklahoma State charges to nine-shot lead at Cabo Collegiate

The Cowboys flipped the script in Cabo, going from eight behind to nine ahead thanks to a stellar round from Austin Eckroat

Oklahoma State surged into the lead in the second round of the Querencia Cabo Collegiate, outscoring every other team by at least five shots with its second-round 15-under 269. The Cowboys went from trailing Arizona State by eight to leading Baylor by nine.

The Cowboys counted four scores under par at Los Cabos Querencia in Los Cabos, Mexico. Three of those scores were in the 60s, including the field-leading 8-under 63 posted by Austin Eckroat. The sophomore had no bogeys in his round, and was the only Cowboy to do that. He has the solo lead at 10 under.

Zach Bauchou and Hayden Wood added rounds of 3-under 68 and Matthew Wolff followed his opening 67 with a second-round 70. He and Wood are both tied for second at 5 under.

Overall, Oklahoma State is 22 under for the tournament.

First-round leader Arizona State struggled to a 3-over 287 on Monday and dropped two spots to third. They are now 10 shots off the pace.

Baylor stands between Oklahoma State and Arizona State. After a second-round 7-under 277, the Bears are 13 under total and will have some work to do to catch Oklahoma State in the final round.
