Oklahoma Open: Jamie Voegeli claims low-am honors

Former Missouri Southern golfer nearly posts the lowest round of the tournament

Plenty of professionals and amateurs alike descended on Oak Tree National in Edmond, Oklahoma, the sight of the 2014 U.S. Senior Open. With a stacked group of pros making it tough on the amateurs, Jamie Voegeli was able to take low-am honors en route to a T-14, 6-under finish. Andrew Hudson of Ft. Worth took the crown south of the Red River as he posted rounds of 67-63-67 for a one-shot victory over Jamey Taylor and Hayden Wood who both finished at 12-under-par. Former Oklahoma State Cowboy Zach Bauchou finished T-4 at 11-under and former PGA Tour winner Robert Streb grabbed a T-10 finishing at 8-under. As for Voegeli, the 2020 Oklahoma Amateur champion bounced back from a first-round one-over 71 with a second-round 64 (35/29), one shot off of the tournament low (Hudson, 63). Three-shots better than the nearest amateur, Voegeli secured low-am honors with a final round 69, seven-shots better Trevor Norby.
