Nicholaus Frade medals at Western Province Amateur

Frade tallied three consecutive subpar rounds on his way to a 9-under showing at Westlake Golf Club

CAPE TOWN, South Africa (April 26, 2017) - After 54-holes of stroke play qualifying at the Western Province Amateur hosted by Westlake Golf Club it was Nicholaus Frade earned medalist honors. Frade tallied three consecutive subpar rounds on his way to a 9-under showing. His best round of the three was his second round 5-under 67 that included four birdies, an eagle on the par-5 7th and just one bogey. Frade assured himself the top-seed with a third round 3-under 69. Marco Steyn finished second at 7-under, Matt Saulez and Kyle McClatchie shared third at 6-under while Samuel Simpson, Malcolm Mitchell and Christo Lamprecht Jr. were fifth at 5-under. Following the completion of play on Wednesday the field was cut to the top-32 for the beginning of match play.
