Monroe Invitational: Live scoring from New York

With local star Gavin Hall in the field at the U.S. Open, NCAA runner-up Dominic Bozzelli is the one to watch

PITTSFORD, NY (June 11, 2013) -- As all eyes in the golf world focus on suburban Philadelphia for this week's U.S. Open, amateur golf insiders will keep on on another northeast event: the Monroe Invitational Championship. Held at the Donald Ross-designed Monroe Golf Club, the Invitational will be played for the 73rd time. Defending champion Thomas Pieters won't be there to defend as he has turned to the professional ranks but another loaded field will be featured with some of the top names in college and amateur golf. One player who won't be in the field is Gavin Hall. He scored a trip to Ardmore, Penn. and qualified for the U.S. Open. NCAA runner-up Dominic Bozzelli, of Auburn, headlines the field. He'll be joined by Florida State's Hank Lebioda and Jack Maquire, Alabama's Sam Love, Kent State's Corey Conners and Pacific's Alex Edfort, among others. Canadian Garrett Rank, who took runner-up at last year's U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship is the top mid-amateur in the field. The 72-hole event tees off Wednesday with the final round being played Saturday. Follow round-by-round results and coverage on amateurgolf.com
