Matt Mitchell turned a one-stroke overnight lead into a runaway on Sunday, firing a second-round 65 to win the Southern Nevada Amateur Championship by four shots at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort.
Mitchell's 8-under 136 total on the Snow Mountain Course put him well clear of Grant McKay and Preston Harris, who shared second at 4-under. Mitchell opened with an even-par 71 on Saturday, then surged ahead with the low round of the championship to claim his latest regional title.
