Madey and Garrick Give UCLA Lead at Amer Ari Invitational

UCLA Bruins Cole Madey and Jonathan Garrick are a combined 18-under par as UCLA leads USC by two

WAIKOLA, HI -- The PAC 12 conference has dominated so far at the Amer Ari Invitational hosted by the Waikoloa Kings' Course. UCLA jumped into the lead after a strong 16-under par 2nd round led by freshman Cole Madey (West Linn, Ore.) and senior Jonathan Garrick (Atherton, Calif.) who shot 65 and 66 respectively. The pair sits tied atop the individual leaderboard at 9-under par. Trailing by two shots are the USC Trojans led by Rico Hoey who sits at 8-under par individually in a tie for third. Oregon State, Oregon, and Arizona State all lurk within 10 shots of the UCLA's lead heading into the final round. The reigning Haskins Award winner Maverick McNealy sits in a tie for 3rd place just one shot shy of the individual lead. The Stanford junior is going for his 10th career collegiate win which would put him just one win shy of tying the Stanford record held by Tiger Woods and Patrick Rodgers.
