Kraft leads with 65 at the Trans-Mississippi

Amateurgolf.com member Brandon Hagy fires a 67 as round one of the prestigious Trans-Mississippi Amateur Championship gets underway at Kansas City Country Club

MISSION HILLS, KS (July 12, 2011) -- Southern Methodist University golfer Kelly Kraft fires an opening round 5-under par 65 and leads the field following round one of the 108th Trans-Mississippi Championship at Kansas City Country Club. Chris Brant of Iowa, Dylan Frittelli of Texas, Kevin Dougherty of Oklahoma State and Wichita mid-amateur Jonathan May are all one shot back with 4-under par 66’s. Amateurgolf.com member Brandon Hagy is two strokes back with a first round 67. The championship will continue with round two on Wednesday, July 13th. The championship is a 72-hole stroke play championship with a cut following 36-holes of play to the low 60 players and ties for the final round which is 36-holes. The Trans-Mississippi Championship has been hosted at Kansas City Country Club seven times previously.
