Kevin Sivage wins by five at New Mexico - West Texas Mid-Amateur

Shooting a final-round 70 was Kevin Sivage, the 2014 Sun Country Amateur Golf Association Senior Player of the Year

FARMINGTON, N.M. — The Sun Country Amateur Golf Association's 2014 Senior Player of the Year Kevin Sivage ran away with a five-shot win at the New Mexico - West Texas Mid-Amateur Championship on Sunday at Pinon Hills Golf Club. Sivage trailed first-round leader Robert Schneider by a stroke, and then proceeded to fire to lowest score of the tournament and cruise to a five-shot victory. Schneider shot 76 on Sunday and tied for second place with Jose Ramon Soto, whose 71 was the second lowest score of the tournament. Soto made three-back nine birdies to card 71 and post 6-over 150. Defending champion Wallace Nelson tied for fourth place with Michael Quinlan and Richard Yai.
