San Jose State won the 2024 Mountain West Conference Women's Championship at Mission Hills Country Club, the Dinah Shore course, Rancho Mirage, Calif., in commanding fashion, winning wire-to-wire and finishing 17-under, winning by 18 shots.
The Spartans were the only team to finish under par, shooting an 8-under 280 in the first round to go up by six shots and never look back.
San Jose State carded rounds of 280-288-279 to get to 17-under and run away with the tournament.
UNLV finished in solo second place at 1-over, Colorado State finished in solo third place at 2-over, New Mexico finished in solo fourth place at 4-over, and Nevada finished in solo fifth place at 10-over.
Kajsa Arwefjall of San Jose State led San Jose State to the win, finishing 9-under and three shots clear of the field. Arwefjall carded rounds of 68-73-66 to secure the individual win.
Arwefjall shot a final round bogey-free 6-under 66 to erase a two-shot deficit heading into the final round and ultimately win by three shots. She recorded six birdies on top of the bogey-free round, birding holes No. 2, 5, 8, 10, 11, and 15.
She is currently ranked No. 10 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Rankings. She is coming off a co-medalist win at the Silverado Showdown and T26 at the 2024 ANWA.
Lauren Lehigh of New Mexico finished in solo second place at 6-under. Lehigh entered the final round with a two-shot lead over Arwefjall, but a final round 1-under 71 from Lehigh opened the door for the field.
Lehigh made the quarterfinals of the 2022 U.S. Women's Amateur.
Lucia Lopez-Ortega of San Jose State finished in solo third place at 5-under, and Stephanie Barbaglia of San Diego State finished in solo fourth place at 3-under. Andrea Bergsdottir of Colorado State and Myah McDonald of New Mexico finished T5 at 2-under.
