Jim Rivers Intercollegiate: Owen Stamper wins by two shots

The Middle Tennessee State senior third-lowest 54-hole score in program history.

Owen Stamper of Scottsville, Ky., shot 13-under to register a two-shot win for his second collegiate title at the LA Tech’s Argent Financial Classic at Squire Creek in Choudrant, Louisiana.

Stamper shot rounds of 65-70-68 to finish 13-under.

An eagle on the par-5 No. 11 hole propelled Stamper into a one-stroke lead, which he further extended with a birdie on the No. 17.

By the tournament's conclusion, Stamper had amassed a total of 14 birdies, distinguishing himself as one of only three players in the field to achieve multiple birdies.

Stamper, a senior at Middle Tennessee State University, achieved an impressive total score of 13-under 203, now sharing the distinction of the third-lowest 54-hole score in program history. The MTSU team secured a fifth-place finish with a collective score of 859 (-5).

Notably, Michael Barnard (T-4th, 6-under 210) and Gavin Clements (T-10th, 4-under 212) also delivered outstanding performances for the Blue Raiders. UAB, Louisiana, and Southern Mississippi ended in a thrilling three-way tie for the top spot at 9-under.
