JEREZ, Spain — Jeroen Krietenmeijer of the Netherlands became the third Dutchman to win the Spanish International Amateur with his come-from-behind victory over Gary Hurley of Ireland in Sunday's 36-hole final. Down two holes to Hurley on the 16th tee, Krietenmeijer finished with birdie, eagle, and par on the closing three holes to win one-up over Hurley, who had not trailed since the 8th hole in the first 18. Hurley handed Ashley Chesters of England a 3-and-2 defeat in the semifinals while Krietenmeijer defeated Ivan Cantero of Spain on the 19th hole. Cantero was one of four co-medaists, along with Michael Saunders and Jonathan Thomson of England and Viktor Hovland of Norway. Hovland, the No. 1 seed, was ousted in the round of 16 on Thursday by Hurley, 4-and-3 defeat. Hurley went on to face Markus Maukner of Austria in Friday morning's quarterfinal match, where he prevailed 3-and-2.
