James Clark holds 54-hole Southeastern Amateur Lead

Second round co-leader Jonathan Hardee, 13-under, will begin the final round in second place thanks to a flawless 4-under 66

COLUMBUS, GA (June 16, 2017) - James Clark, a native of Columbus, GA, fired his second 7-under 63 of the tournament and at 15-under he will carry a two-stroke lead into the final round of the Southeastern Amateur at the Country Club of Columbus. The rising senior at Georgia Tech, who also shot a 63 in the first round, started the day tied for the lead but thanks to a bogey-free round he was able to pull ahead on Friday. An All-ACC performer as a junior, Clark got off to a quick start with birdies on the first two holes and then added birds on Nos. 6 and 7 before capping his 6-under 30 on the front side with a hole-out eagle on the par-4 9th. Eight consecutive pars followed before Clark added a closing hole birdie to provide himself with a bit of cushion heading into the final round. Second round co-leader Jonathan Hardee, 13-under, will begin the final round in second place thanks to a flawless 4-under 66 on Friday that included two birdies on each side. For the senior to be at Alabama, the birdies came in bunches as Hardee recorded his circles on Nos. 1 and 2; 10 and 12. North Florida's Dillon Woods is third at 10-under, Steven Fisk of Georgia Southern sits in fourth at 8-under while Georgia's Will Chandler and Archer Price of Georgia Southern are sharing fifth at 6-under.
