Izuzquiza pulls away to win Coachella Amateur by four

Saint Mary’s redshirt junior Inigo Izuzquiza dominated the final day at Terra Lago to claim a four-shot victory

Inigo Izuzquiza of Spain, a redshirt junior at Saint Mary’s College, won the Coachella Amateur with rounds of 69-66-65 for a 16-under 200 total and a four-shot victory at Terra Lago Golf Course in Indio, California. His closing 65 was the lowest round of the tournament and capped a bogey-free stretch of his final 34 holes.

Izuzquiza moved into the lead with his second-round 66 and never relinquished control, turning the final day into a tidy front‑running display. Behind him, Washington State sophomore Dylan Burcham followed an opening 68 with matching 68-68 rounds to finish runner-up at 12-under 204, the only other player to reach double digits under par.

Now in its fourth year, the Coachella Amateur is part of the Troon Saguaro Amateur Series, a world‑ranked schedule that features eight events in the 2025–26 season. Played in ideal desert conditions with mid‑70s temperatures and light winds, this year’s Coachella stop was the fifth event of the Series, which next heads to Shadow Hills Golf Club in California for the Agave Amateur from December 19–22.

Hosted over Terra Lago’s championship layout, the event continued the venue’s reputation as a demanding but scenic test across 440 acres of desert terrain. Originally developed as Landmark Golf Club and designed with professional tournament golf in mind, the course blends classic strategy with dramatic land movement, rewarding precise approach play under pressure.
