International Mid-Amateur: Keanu Akina wins in a playoff

As Akina won the Individual championship, Utah won the team championship

Keanu Akina won the 2023 International Mid-Amateur Individual Championship after surviving a three-man playoff.

Akina shot 10-under through the three rounds of stroke play competition to force a playoff with Josh Goldstein and Adam Miller. Akina prevailed in the playoff to win the championship with Goldstein and Miller finishing T2.

Goldstein started his championship with an eagle hole out on the first hole of his tournament.

Akina shot rounds of 67-69-70. His first-round 5-under 67 gave him the solo first-round lead.

Tyler Reynolds and Matt Zions shot 8-under to finish T4, and Jeff Rangel shot 5-under to finish in solo sixth place.

In the team competition, Utah won with a score of 11-under. Northern California finished just one shot back in second place at 10-under. Arkansas 2 finished in solo third place at 9-under.
